A Prayer for the Hurting of Vietnam

Father in Heaven,

We thank you that you are sovereign over all countries, all peoples, and all circumstances. You (and only you) can sustain people through difficult circumstances and deliver people from difficult circumstances. We now ask you to do both for the people of Vietnam in accordance with your perfect will.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the countless women and girls who are caught up in sex slavery.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the homeless and hungry, victims of wider economic problems.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the sick who have no way of receiving adequate medical treatment.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the oppressed, the widow, and the orphan.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the multitudes who struggle with depression and anxiety.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the individuals and families who live in constant fear of crime against them.

We pray you would sustain and deliver the overworked and underpaid, those struggling to provide for their families.

We pray you would sustain and deliver those who bear scars (seen and unseen) from war.

We pray you would sustain and deliver our Christian brothers and sisters who are suffering persecution of various kinds.

In all of this, and more than anything, we pray that you would make your name highly exalted among the Vietnamese and that those who do not know you would worship you as Savior and King.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
