Today we pray for the Khmer Krom.
Many boys and young men, typically from the age of eight to 20 yrs. old will become monks at a Buddhist temple. They will remain there from one to five years and sometimes for life. Often it is a way to earn merit on their parents’ behalf, to honor their parent and make them proud. Or, in some cases, because they have been orphaned.
Because of the young boys at the temple, a lot of other boys in the community hang out there with the monks. During their time at the temple, they are influenced by spiritual darkness, opening themselves up to a lifetime of spiritual bondage without even knowing it.
Exodus 33:19NIV
19 And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Pray that the Lord would have mercy, revealing himself and proclaiming his name to these boys and young men. Pray that the Lord would make himself known to them so that they would experience his mercy and compassion, and honor him as Lord of lords.
